how we know what we know

It's very easy to dream awake, Cinderella really said it best, "A dream is a wish your heart makes".

If you know me from college (FIU), then you know I love a good party, but so does everyone else at that age. So what makes my story special?

I flipped the script on myself and made a career out of partying and plugging talent in to special events. While I was in college, I had 3 internships and was a full-time student at one point. HOW? I was escaping myself and situation. I was running so hard and fast trying to escape my reality, I ended up creating a brand new one.

While in school, I worked some of Miami's most elite events such as: Art Basel, South Beach Wine and Food Festival, Miami Open, etc. I shifted positions in each event as my main goal was to gather as much experience as possible for myself.

My "big break" came when I was the Talent Manager Assistant for the Miami Beach Centennial in 2015. I was in charge of 45 artists and their entourage, everything from hospitality and transportation, to their rehearsals for the show and wrangle them on show day.

Every event since this date has been a competition against myself, aiming to get higher positions and better pay. I became the VIP Suite Representative for the Miami Open in 2017 as well as an Attraction Manager for the All-Star MLB Game also in 2017.

To my surprise, there was a halt in my journey and I moved to New York for two and a half years. I pursued freelance for the majority of the time and also held a position as Operations Coordinator for Oxygen Eventworks. During my time with the company I was scheduled to work the Opening of the Statue of Liberty Museum, things took a different turn and I was laid off on a Friday afternoon at 4:30 P.M. exactly 30 days before the event.

This taught me the biggest lesson to date, networking. I was able to get back on the project through the executive producer handling talent. I ended up being the Back of House Manager for the event and was responsible for the artists: Tony Bennett, Gloria Estefan, Oprah Winfrey and the host, Seth Meyers.

Later in April, consumed by COVID-19 I decided it was time to move back to Miami. Since I got back, I've been focused on getting the Mayhem Project established and my team in order. You are only as strong as your weakest link, that being me at the moment. I am focused on reaching and surpassing all of my goals here!
